Powers under Jute
Packaging Act; ORDER of 26th August 1987
S.O. No. 798 (E) In exercise of the powers conferred by section 13
of the Jute Packaging Materials (Compulsory Use in Packing
Commodities) Act, 1987 (10 of 1987), the Central Government hereby
directs that the powers exercisable by it under the provisions of
the said Act as specified in Column (4) of the Table below shall be
exercisable also by the Jute Commissioner in respect of all the
commodities, wherever they are produced, for which jute packaging
material is required to be used and, subject to the supervision, and
direction, if any, issued by the Jute Commissioner, the said powers
shall also be exercisable by the officer or authority as specified
in column (2) of the said Table in respect of corresponding
commodity as specified in column (3) of the aforesaid Table.
